I know you’re looking at the red, and if you know anything about photography, you’ll
say I photoshopped the pics. Yes, I did ... to best represent the color of the mandolin. That being said, this A Model is pretty fancy for a “Standard”. The top is Red Spruce (Adirondack) and I would characterize the tone as warm, but with a nice bell-tone clarity. It’s a lively mandolin, and it plays great. This instrument is only a few months old, but you can tell there’s nice power developing in the bass and the treble. The neck has a pre-worn finish in the playing area so that it feels old and smooth like a well-worn vintage mandolin.
