Chinquapin Hunting - Mandolin


        I’d been wanting to learn this tune for a while, and had the opportunity when Murph (Brad Murphey) and Dominick spent the night last fall. We picked until almost 3am, then recorded this tune and few others the next morning. If you’re an advanced player there’s a real challenge in learning Dominick’s second solo. I’ve included another page with the guitar solo playing pretty much the same notes as the mandolin version shown here. The recorder is an Edirol R-09, and can be seen in the photo.
